Description

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup colorful sprinkles (plus extra for decoration)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In another large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and mix thoroughly.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Stir in the colorful sprinkles gently.
  6. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cakes cool in the pans for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra moist cake, don’t overmix the batter. Using room temperature ingredients helps incorporate air for a fluffier texture.
