Description
A comforting dish of tender chicken thighs cooked in garlic butter, served over creamy orzo for a satisfying weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless chicken thighs
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth (or water)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh herbs (such as parsley or thyme)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper, and sear them in the hot pan until golden brown on both sides. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add butter and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant.
- Stir in orzo, followed by chicken broth, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- Once the orzo begins to absorb the broth, return the chicken to the pan. Cook until the chicken is fully cooked and the orzo is tender.
- Finish with fresh herbs and a swirl of extra butter for richness.
Notes
For a creamier texture, consider adding a splash of heavy cream at the end. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
