Description

A comforting dish of tender chicken thighs cooked in garlic butter, served over creamy orzo for a satisfying weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth (or water)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh herbs (such as parsley or thyme)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper, and sear them in the hot pan until golden brown on both sides. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add butter and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant.
  4. Stir in orzo, followed by chicken broth, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Once the orzo begins to absorb the broth, return the chicken to the pan. Cook until the chicken is fully cooked and the orzo is tender.
  6. Finish with fresh herbs and a swirl of extra butter for richness.

Notes

For a creamier texture, consider adding a splash of heavy cream at the end. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
