Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup ketchup (or BBQ sauce)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard (yellow or Dijon)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, eggs, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and mustard. Mix until evenly incorporated.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased baking dish.
  4. In a separate small bowl, whisk together ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce to create a glaze.
  5. Pour the glaze over the meatloaf, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until a meat thermometer reads 160°F (70°C) in the center.
  7. Let the meatloaf rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
