Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- Your choice of fillings (fruit preserves or chocolate)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the chilled butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Mix in milk and egg until just combined, being careful not to overwork the dough.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Cut into squares or triangles and place your choice of filling in the center.
- Fold the dough over and seal the edges, then place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
