Description

Tender meatballs made with lean turkey, fresh herbs, and spices, served with a tangy tzatziki sauce, perfect for a light meal or gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (or use gluten-free alternative)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 small cucumber, finely grated and drained
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) or heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, garlic, oregano, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  4. Place meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, or arrange them in the skillet if frying.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or cook until browned and cooked through.
  6. While meatballs are cooking, prepare tzatziki by mixing yogurt, cucumber, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and salt in a bowl.
  7. Serve warm meatballs with a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce.

Notes

For perfectly moist meatballs, avoid overmixing the meat mixture. Chill the mixture before shaping for easier handling.
