Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (or use gluten-free alternative)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 small cucumber, finely grated and drained
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) or heat a skillet over medium heat.
- In a large bowl, combine turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, garlic, oregano, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Place meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, or arrange them in the skillet if frying.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or cook until browned and cooked through.
- While meatballs are cooking, prepare tzatziki by mixing yogurt, cucumber, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and salt in a bowl.
- Serve warm meatballs with a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce.
Notes
For perfectly moist meatballs, avoid overmixing the meat mixture. Chill the mixture before shaping for easier handling.
