Description

Delightful bagels made with Greek yogurt for a nutritious twist on a breakfast favorite.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (preferably full-fat)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (or whole wheat)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: toppings like sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the Greek yogurt to the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for a few minutes until smooth.
  5. Divide the dough into 4-6 equal pieces and shape each piece into a bagel by forming a hole in the center.
  6. Place the shaped bagels on the prepared baking sheet and brush with a little extra yogurt, then sprinkle your desired toppings.
  7. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

These bagels can be enjoyed plain or with a variety of toppings such as cream cheese, avocado, or smoked salmon. Store them in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze for longer storage.
