Description
A delightful dish combining marinated grilled steak with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil for a savory, sweet, and tangy experience.
Ingredients
- 1 pound flank or ribeye steak
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese
- 2 large tomatoes
- Fresh basil leaves
Instructions
- Begin by creating a marinade with the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Place the steak in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Ensure the meat is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for richer flavor.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off, and discard the remaining marinade.
- Grill the steak for 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, depending on the thickness.
- While the steak cooks, slice the mozzarella and tomatoes. Set aside.
- Once the steak reaches your desired doneness, remove it from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- To serve, layer slices of steak with mozzarella, tomatoes, and fresh basil on a platter. Drizzle with extra balsamic glaze if desired.
Notes
For best results, use high-quality ingredients, like fresh mozzarella and ripe tomatoes. Marinating for longer enhances the flavor.
