Description

A delightful dish combining marinated grilled steak with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil for a savory, sweet, and tangy experience.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank or ribeye steak
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 2 large tomatoes
  • Fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Begin by creating a marinade with the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Place the steak in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Ensure the meat is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for richer flavor.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off, and discard the remaining marinade.
  4. Grill the steak for 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, depending on the thickness.
  5. While the steak cooks, slice the mozzarella and tomatoes. Set aside.
  6. Once the steak reaches your desired doneness, remove it from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  7. To serve, layer slices of steak with mozzarella, tomatoes, and fresh basil on a platter. Drizzle with extra balsamic glaze if desired.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality ingredients, like fresh mozzarella and ripe tomatoes. Marinating for longer enhances the flavor.
