Description

A comforting dish that brings together ground beef and tender potatoes, perfect for family gatherings or a cozy night in.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced thinly
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional herbs or seasonings of your choice

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onions and cook until they are translucent.
  3. In a separate large dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, then spread the ground beef mixture over the potatoes.
  5. Top with the remaining potato slices, and pour beef broth over everything.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 45 minutes.
  7. If desired, uncover and sprinkle cheese on top. Bake for an additional 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

For added flavor, try incorporating garlic powder or paprika into the ground beef mixture. You can also use sweet potatoes for a sweeter profile.
