Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, sliced thinly
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional herbs or seasonings of your choice
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onions and cook until they are translucent.
- In a separate large dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom.
- Season with salt and pepper, then spread the ground beef mixture over the potatoes.
- Top with the remaining potato slices, and pour beef broth over everything.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 45 minutes.
- If desired, uncover and sprinkle cheese on top. Bake for an additional 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
For added flavor, try incorporating garlic powder or paprika into the ground beef mixture. You can also use sweet potatoes for a sweeter profile.
