Description
A hearty and wholesome hamburger steak dish, perfect for family meals and gatherings, featuring tender beef patties and a rich gravy.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon coconut aminos (or substitute with soy sauce)
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon arrowroot powder (for thickening)
- Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with chopped onion, minced garlic, coconut aminos, thyme, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 equal patties.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the patties. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until a nice brown crust forms and they reach your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the beef broth. Stir in the arrowroot powder to thicken the gravy, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
- Return the patties to the skillet and let them simmer in the gravy for a few minutes until heated through.
- Serve hot, spooning the gravy generously over the patties.
Notes
Serve with sautéed vegetables or a fresh salad. For low-carb diets, consider steamed cauliflower or zucchini noodles as a base.
