Description

A hearty and wholesome hamburger steak dish, perfect for family meals and gatherings, featuring tender beef patties and a rich gravy.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon coconut aminos (or substitute with soy sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon arrowroot powder (for thickening)
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with chopped onion, minced garlic, coconut aminos, thyme, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 equal patties.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the patties. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until a nice brown crust forms and they reach your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the beef broth. Stir in the arrowroot powder to thicken the gravy, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
  4. Return the patties to the skillet and let them simmer in the gravy for a few minutes until heated through.
  5. Serve hot, spooning the gravy generously over the patties.

Notes

Serve with sautéed vegetables or a fresh salad. For low-carb diets, consider steamed cauliflower or zucchini noodles as a base.
