Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon flour (or cornstarch for gluten-free)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Burger buns for serving
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add the sliced onions to the skillet, cooking them on low until they become soft and caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic, and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Bring to a simmer.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir until combined. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Season with salt and pepper to your liking.
- Spoon the mix onto burger buns and serve warm.
Notes
For an extra touch, try adding a splash of red wine while cooking the onions. Adjust the garlic quantity to your taste, and add herbs for extra depth.
