Description
A comforting dish combining savory ground beef with rich gravy atop fluffy mashed potatoes, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup beef broth (low sodium recommended)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons flour (or gluten-free alternative)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
Instructions
- Boil potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and mash with milk and butter until fluffy.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onions and garlic to the meat, sautéing until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over the beef mixture; stir well to combine and cook for an additional minute.
- Gradually stir in the beef broth while continuing to cook, allowing the gravy to thicken, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the beef gravy over a generous scoop of mashed potatoes.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave, adding beef broth if needed.
