Description

A comforting dish combining savory ground beef with rich gravy atop fluffy mashed potatoes, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup beef broth (low sodium recommended)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons flour (or gluten-free alternative)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter

Instructions

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and mash with milk and butter until fluffy.
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onions and garlic to the meat, sautéing until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the beef mixture; stir well to combine and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Gradually stir in the beef broth while continuing to cook, allowing the gravy to thicken, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve the beef gravy over a generous scoop of mashed potatoes.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave, adding beef broth if needed.
