Description

A vibrant and nourishing bowl with spicy tuna over fluffy rice, perfect for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sushi rice (or jasmine rice)
  • 1 pound sushi-grade tuna, diced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Nori sheets, cut into strips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook according to the package instructions (usually 1 cup rice to 1.25 cups water).
  2. In a bowl, combine diced tuna, soy sauce, sesame oil, and sriracha. Mix well and set aside for the flavors to meld.
  3. Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and let it cool slightly.
  4. In serving bowls, layer the rice and top with the marinated tuna, avocados, and cucumbers.
  5. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions. Add nori strips if using.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For a vegetarian option, consider using marinated tofu instead of tuna. Store components separately to keep leftovers fresh.
