Description

A comforting and flavorful meatloaf packed with ground meat and Parmesan cheese, perfect for family gatherings or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs (680 g) ground beef (80/20) or ground turkey
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.5 cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 cup (120 ml) milk
  • 1 cup (120 g) breadcrumbs (Italian-style or plain)
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 cup (120 ml) marinara sauce
  • 0.25 cup (25 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet or loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, onion, garlic, eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Gently mix without overworking the meat and shape into a loaf on the baking surface.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together marinara sauce, Parmesan, and olive oil for the glaze.
  5. Spread the glaze over the meatloaf and roast in the oven for 50-60 minutes until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for beef or 165°F (74°C) for turkey.
  6. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For added moisture, use a blend of meats, and consider adding fresh herbs or spices for variation.
