Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs (680 g) ground beef (80/20) or ground turkey
- 2 large eggs
- 0.5 cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 0.5 cup (120 ml) milk
- 1 cup (120 g) breadcrumbs (Italian-style or plain)
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 0.5 cup (120 ml) marinara sauce
- 0.25 cup (25 g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet or loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, onion, garlic, eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Gently mix without overworking the meat and shape into a loaf on the baking surface.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together marinara sauce, Parmesan, and olive oil for the glaze.
- Spread the glaze over the meatloaf and roast in the oven for 50-60 minutes until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for beef or 165°F (74°C) for turkey.
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For added moisture, use a blend of meats, and consider adding fresh herbs or spices for variation.
