Description

A comforting beef and green bean casserole with mushrooms and cheddar cheese, perfect for gatherings or family nights.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) green beans, drained (or fresh green beans, trimmed)
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups cooked rice (optional for heartiness)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add onions and mushrooms to the skillet, sautéing until tender.
  4. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Fold in the green beans and rice, if using, until evenly coated.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a casserole dish and sprinkle cheddar cheese on top.
  7. Bake in the oven for about 25 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

Pair with a simple green salad, crusty bread, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal. For extra flavor, add herbs like thyme or a splash of Worcestershire sauce.
