Description

A comforting casserole made with ground beef, tender potatoes, and melty cheese, perfect for family gatherings and cozy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar recommended)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the diced onion until cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup and beef broth. Add salt and pepper as desired.
  4. In a baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom.
  5. Spread half of the beef mixture over the potatoes, then drizzle with a layer of the soup mix. Sprinkle with cheese.
  6. Repeat the layers: remaining potatoes, ground beef, soup, and top with the rest of the cheese.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until golden and bubbling.

Notes

Feel free to swap in your favorite cheese or add a mix for extra flavor. For added depth, consider seasoning the beef with garlic powder or paprika.
