Description

A comforting casserole combining layers of ground beef, pasta, and melty cheese, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 12 oz pasta (elbow or shell)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add onions and garlic; sauté until translucent.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce and seasonings. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked pasta, ricotta cheese, and the ground beef mixture.
  6. Transfer everything to a greased baking dish and top with cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. For freezing, cover tightly; it can last up to two months.
