A delightful blend of creamy cheese, tender beef, and perfectly cooked macaroni, inspired by a classic Philly cheesesteak.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced (any color)
- 2 cups shredded provolone cheese
- 1 cup cream cheese
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cook the macaroni according to the package directions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Season with salt and pepper.
- Once the beef is cooked, add the diced onion and bell pepper, sautéing until softened.
- Pour in the beef broth, stirring in the garlic powder, and let it simmer for a few minutes.
- Lower the heat and mix in the cream cheese until melted and smooth.
- Combine the cooked macaroni and half of the provolone cheese into the beef mixture, stirring to combine well.
- Top with the remaining provolone cheese, cover, and let it melt for about 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For best results, use freshly shredded cheese and feel free to experiment with spices for additional flavor.
