Description

A comforting and nostalgic dish featuring juicy chicken breasts smothered in a creamy gravy, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
  2. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the remaining oil, add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3 minutes until translucent.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the onions and stir for about a minute to toast it lightly.
  5. Gradually whisk in the chicken broth and milk, cooking until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
  6. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet to coat it in the gravy.
  7. Serve hot, optionally garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

Best served over creamy mashed potatoes or rice. For a lighter option, pair with steamed green beans or a garden salad.
