Description

A comforting Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken dish that transforms simple ingredients into a flavorful meal, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup water or chicken broth
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water (for the slurry)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes if using.
  2. Place the chicken in the bottom of your slow cooker and pour the prepared sauce evenly over the top.
  3. Cover and cook on low heat for 4 to 6 hours, or until the chicken is tender.
  4. Mix cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry. Stir into the slow cooker and increase the temperature to high.
  5. Cook for an additional 15-20 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Serve the shredded chicken drizzled with the thickened honey garlic glaze.

Notes

For richer flavor, marinate chicken in sauce for a few hours before cooking. This recipe can be customized with additional ingredients such as bell peppers or teriyaki sauce.
