A delightful grilled cheese sandwich featuring aged cheddar, crispy beef bacon, tart apples, and a touch of hot honey for a sweet and savory twist.
Ingredients
- 2 slices of bread (your choice)
- 2 slices of aged cheddar cheese
- 1 apple, thinly sliced (tart varieties like Granny Smith)
- 2-4 slices of beef bacon, cooked
- Hot honey, to taste
- Butter, for grilling
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of butter.
- Spread hot honey on one side of each slice of bread.
- On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer the cheddar cheese, apple slices, and crispy beef bacon.
- Place the second slice of bread on top, honey side down.
- Once the skillet is hot, carefully place the sandwich in the skillet.
- Grill for about 4-5 minutes, or until golden brown, then flip.
- Grill the other side until the cheese is melted and the bread is perfectly toasted, about another 4-5 minutes.
- Remove from the skillet and let it sit for a minute before cutting in half.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, omit the beef bacon and add grilled vegetables. Experiment with different bread and cheese varieties to customize your sandwich.
