A classic meatloaf recipe that brings comfort and nostalgia, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (80-85% lean)
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- ⅓ cup milk
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- ¾ cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp mustard
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet or loaf pan with parchment paper or grease.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic, onion, eggs, bread crumbs, Worcestershire sauce, milk, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; mix gently.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking sheet or loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
- In a small bowl, mix the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard to create the glaze.
- Spread half the glaze over the meatloaf and bake for 40-45 minutes until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C), adding the remaining glaze in the last 10 minutes.
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing to allow juices to redistribute.
Notes
Don’t overmix the meatloaf to avoid a tough texture. Experiment with fresh herbs for added flavor.
