Description

A classic meatloaf recipe that brings comfort and nostalgia, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80-85% lean)
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ¾ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet or loaf pan with parchment paper or grease.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic, onion, eggs, bread crumbs, Worcestershire sauce, milk, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; mix gently.
  3. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking sheet or loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard to create the glaze.
  5. Spread half the glaze over the meatloaf and bake for 40-45 minutes until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C), adding the remaining glaze in the last 10 minutes.
  6. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing to allow juices to redistribute.

Notes

Don’t overmix the meatloaf to avoid a tough texture. Experiment with fresh herbs for added flavor.
