Description
A flavorful Korean Chicken recipe featuring tender chicken marinated in a sweet and spicy sauce, perfect for quick dinners or festive gatherings.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
- 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp chili paste or gochujang
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, ketchup, garlic, ginger, chili paste (or gochujang), and sesame oil until well combined.
- Add the chicken pieces to the marinade. Let them soak for at least 30 minutes (or preferably, overnight in the refrigerator for deeper flavor).
- Heat a tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken, reserving some marinade for later.
- Cook the chicken until it turns golden brown and is cooked through, approximately 5-7 minutes.
- Pour in the reserved marinade and let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, substitute low-sodium soy sauce with tamari. For a vegan alternative, use maple syrup instead of honey.
