Description

A flavorful Korean Chicken recipe featuring tender chicken marinated in a sweet and spicy sauce, perfect for quick dinners or festive gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp chili paste or gochujang
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, ketchup, garlic, ginger, chili paste (or gochujang), and sesame oil until well combined.
  3. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade. Let them soak for at least 30 minutes (or preferably, overnight in the refrigerator for deeper flavor).
  4. Heat a tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken, reserving some marinade for later.
  5. Cook the chicken until it turns golden brown and is cooked through, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  6. Pour in the reserved marinade and let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
  7. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, substitute low-sodium soy sauce with tamari. For a vegan alternative, use maple syrup instead of honey.
