Description

A delightful yeast-based cake layered with cream and topped with caramelized almonds, perfect for any celebration.


Ingredients

  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 cup sliced almonds


Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast in warm milk with a bit of sugar, allowing it to foam for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, and a pinch of salt. Pour in the yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs, and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, then let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
  4. Prepare the almond topping by melting butter in a saucepan and mixing in sugar, honey, and sliced almonds.
  5. Spread the risen dough into a baking dish, pour the almond mixture on top, and bake until golden brown.
  6. While the cake cools, whip the heavy cream with vanilla until soft peaks form. Slice the cake horizontally and fill it with the cream once cooled.

Notes

For gluten-free options, substitute regular flour with a gluten-free blend. Add cinnamon to the cream for extra flavor.
