Description
A vibrant dish that combines tender chicken with the heat of jalapeños, perfect for weeknight meals or family gatherings.
Ingredients
- Chicken thighs
- Onions
- Jalapeño peppers (fresh or pickled)
- Soy sauce
- Honey
- Garlic
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
- Rice (to serve)
Instructions
- Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces.
- In a pan, heat a drizzle of oil over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are completely golden brown.
- Toss in the chopped onions and sliced jalapeño peppers. Sauté until the vegetables soften and become fragrant.
- In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, honey, and minced garlic. Pour this mixture over the chicken and vegetables in the pan.
- Continue to cook for an additional 5 minutes, ensuring everything is evenly coated in the flavorful sauce.
- Serve the chicken over a bed of cooked rice and sprinkle sesame seeds on top for a finishing touch.
Notes
For an extra kick, leave some of the jalapeño seeds in when preparing the pepper. Marinating the chicken for even a short time (15 minutes) before cooking can intensify the flavors. Don’t skip the garnish! A sprinkle of sesame seeds adds visual appeal and a nutty flavor.
