Description

Tender beef braised in rich broth, nestled between crusty rolls and topped with gooey cheese—perfect for busy weeknights or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef roast
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Rolls or hoagie bread
  • Swiss or provolone cheese
  • Optional: au jus for dipping

Instructions

  1. Season the beef roast generously with salt, pepper, thyme, and rosemary.
  2. Place the seasoned roast in the slow cooker.
  3. Top the beef with sliced onions and minced garlic.
  4. Pour the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over everything.
  5. Cover and let it cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is fork-tender.
  6. Once done, shred the beef using two forks, ensuring it soaks up all that delicious broth.
  7. Serve the shredded beef on rolls, generously topping with cheese.
  8. For that extra touch, serve with warm au jus on the side for dipping.

Notes

Consider searing the beef roast for added flavor. Experiment with cheese types for a gourmet twist.
