Description

A quick and delicious recipe for tender, flaky baked salmon crafted in a foil packet, sealing in moisture and flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pound salmon fillet (skin on)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 whole lemon, sliced
  • Chopped fresh parsley (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Pat the salmon dry and place it skin side down on the foil.
  3. Generously season the salmon with salt and pepper.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, lemon juice, and minced garlic.
  5. Brush the butter mixture over the salmon fillet, then layer lemon slices on top.
  6. Carefully wrap the foil around the salmon to create a sealed packet.
  7. Bake for 13-15 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 115°F (46°C).
  8. For a finishing touch, broil for an additional 3-4 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  9. Allow it to rest for 3 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with parsley, if desired.

Notes

For a healthier option, substitute unsalted butter with olive oil. Feel free to experiment with different herbs and citrus flavors.
