Description

A simple yet flavorful roasted chicken that brings comfort and delicious aroma to your home.


Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (about 4-5 lbs)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Fresh herbs (like rosemary or thyme) – optional


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the chicken by removing any giblets from the cavity and patting it dry with paper towels.
  3. Rub the entire skin with olive oil, then generously season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  4. For added flavor, place some fresh herbs inside the cavity.
  5. Place the chicken in a roasting pan, breast side up.
  6. Roast in the oven for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  7. Let the dish rest for 10-15 minutes before carving.

Notes

For crispy skin, avoid covering the chicken while roasting. Consider marinating overnight for extra flavor. A probe thermometer is recommended for perfect doneness.
