Description

A savory one-pan meal featuring ground beef and crisp broccoli, perfect for busy weeknights and low-carb lifestyles.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: spices like paprika, Italian seasoning, or red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Incorporate the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Stir in the ground beef, breaking it apart, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and any desired spices.
  6. Add the broccoli florets and a splash of water; cover to steam for 5 minutes or until tender.
  7. Remove the lid and sprinkle cheese over the top. Let it melt for a couple of minutes before serving.

Notes

Using fresh broccoli enhances the crunchiness. Drain excess fat from beef to keep it light and healthy.
