Description

A tender, flaky salmon fillet bathed in a luscious garlic butter sauce, highlighted by fresh lemon.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds salmon fillet, skin on
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 whole lemon, thinly sliced
  • Fresh chopped parsley, optional for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and position a rack in the upper third.
  2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  3. Pat the salmon dry with paper towels and place it skin-side down in the center of the foil. Season it lightly with salt and pepper.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, lemon juice, and minced garlic until well combined. Brush this mixture generously over the salmon.
  5. Lay the thin lemon slices over the top of the fillet and wrap the foil around it to create a tightly sealed packet.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 13 to 15 minutes, until the salmon’s center reaches about 115°F (46°C).
  7. Switch the oven to broil at 450°F (232°C), open the foil packet, and return it to the oven for an additional 3 to 4 minutes until the salmon is golden brown and cooked to 145°F (63°C).
  8. Allow the salmon to rest for 3 minutes before garnishing with freshly chopped parsley and serving.

Notes

Choose fresh salmon for best results and avoid overcooking to maintain moisture.
