Description

A moist and flavorful cake infused with the rich, nutty flavor of browned butter, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, browned and cooled
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk (or plant-based milk)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking pan.
  2. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently until it turns golden brown; allow it to cool.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooled brown butter and sugar, mixing until well blended.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  5. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix this into the wet ingredients.
  6. Stir in vanilla extract and milk until just combined; avoid overmixing.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
  9. Allow cooling before serving.

Notes

For added indulgence, serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days at room temperature or up to a week in the refrigerator.
