Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon yeast
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Allow to sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
- Mix in the sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt until smooth.
- Gradually incorporate the flour, stirring until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until elastic.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place, covered, for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Once risen, roll out the dough into a rectangle; spread softened butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
- Distribute the chopped strawberries evenly over the surface, then roll tightly into a log.
- Cut into slices and place them in a greased baking dish. Let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C), then bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Optional: Drizzle with icing made from powdered sugar and milk once cooled.
