Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cake flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 2 cups powdered sugar


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, sift together the cake flour and baking powder, then set aside.
  3. Cream the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Incorporate vanilla extract and alternate adding the dry mixture with buttermilk until smooth.
  6. Pour into prepared pans and bake for approximately 25-30 minutes.
  7. Allow cakes to cool before frosting with a mixture of cream cheese and powdered sugar.
