Ingredients
- 1 pound Ground beef
- 8 ounces Cream cheese
- 2 cups Cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup Beef broth
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Pasta (elbow macaroni or penne)
- 1 Onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- Beef bacon, chopped (optional for added flavor)
- Toppings: diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, pickles
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. If using, add the chopped beef bacon for extra flavor and cook until crispy.
- Add chopped onion and garlic to the skillet, sautéing until softened.
- Stir in the cream cheese, beef broth, and milk, mixing until smooth. Gradually add in the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until melted and creamy.
- Combine the cooked pasta with the cheese sauce in the skillet, mixing thoroughly to coat.
- Add Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper, adjusting flavors as needed.
- Serve hot, topped with fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and pickles.
Notes
For a lighter version, consider using whole wheat pasta or lower-fat cheese. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
