Description

A classic meatloaf drizzled with a sweet and tangy brown sugar glaze, perfect for cozy dinners and family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (for the glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (for the glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, eggs, milk, breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it either in a greased loaf pan or on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. For the glaze: In a small saucepan, stir together brown sugar, 1/2 cup ketchup, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Heat over low until the mixture is smooth.
  5. Spoon half of the glaze over the formed meatloaf.
  6. Bake for 40 minutes, then add the remaining glaze. Continue to bake for another 15–20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  7. Allow the meatloaf to rest for about 10 minutes before slicing to serve.
