A classic meatloaf drizzled with a sweet and tangy brown sugar glaze, perfect for cozy dinners and family gatherings.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup ketchup (for the glaze)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (for the glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, eggs, milk, breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it either in a greased loaf pan or on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- For the glaze: In a small saucepan, stir together brown sugar, 1/2 cup ketchup, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Heat over low until the mixture is smooth.
- Spoon half of the glaze over the formed meatloaf.
- Bake for 40 minutes, then add the remaining glaze. Continue to bake for another 15–20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Allow the meatloaf to rest for about 10 minutes before slicing to serve.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze wrapped tightly for up to 3 months.
