Description

A delightful spiced cake that captures the essence of homemade goodness, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or milk mixed with vinegar)
  • ½ cup vegetable oil (or melted coconut oil)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan or two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, spices, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra moist cake, ensure your ingredients are at room temperature. Add nuts or raisins for texture, or experiment with spices for a unique flavor.
