Description

A flavorful roasted onion dish, infused with herbs and spices, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • Large onions (preferably sweet)
  • Fresh herbs (like thyme or rosemary)
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Optional: chili flakes for heat

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Peel the onions and slice them into thick rounds or quarters.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the onion pieces with olive oil, ensuring they’re well-coated.
  4. Sprinkle in the herbs, salt, and pepper (along with chili flakes if using) and mix thoroughly.
  5. Spread the seasoned onions on a baking sheet in a single layer.
  6. Roast in the oven for about 30-40 minutes, or until caramelized and tender.
  7. Once done, let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding balsamic vinegar or cheese before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
