Description

Succulent pork chops perfectly seared and basted in garlic-thyme butter, ideal for impressing guests or enjoying a family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium pork chops
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 60g melted butter
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 15ml extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
  2. Generously season the pork chops with salt and pepper.
  3. In a skillet, melt the butter, then stir in the minced garlic, chopped thyme, and a splash of lemon juice.
  4. Heat the olive oil in the skillet until hot, then sear the pork chops for about 2 minutes on each side.
  5. Pour the butter mixture over the chops, basting them well.
  6. Carefully transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 10–14 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  7. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

You can substitute fresh thyme with dried thyme if necessary. Allow chops to reach room temperature before cooking for more even doneness.
