Description
Succulent pork chops perfectly seared and basted in garlic-thyme butter, ideal for impressing guests or enjoying a family dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 medium pork chops
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 60g melted butter
- 1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 15ml extra virgin olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
- Generously season the pork chops with salt and pepper.
- In a skillet, melt the butter, then stir in the minced garlic, chopped thyme, and a splash of lemon juice.
- Heat the olive oil in the skillet until hot, then sear the pork chops for about 2 minutes on each side.
- Pour the butter mixture over the chops, basting them well.
- Carefully transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 10–14 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
You can substitute fresh thyme with dried thyme if necessary. Allow chops to reach room temperature before cooking for more even doneness.
