Description
Crispy prosciutto wrapped around tender asparagus spears, making for an elegant appetizer or side dish that’s easy to prepare.
Ingredients
- 12 spears asparagus
- 6 slices prosciutto
- 1-2 tablespoons olive oil (or coconut oil/ghee for frying)
Instructions
- Clean and trim your asparagus by snapping off about 2 cm from the ends.
- Slice each strip of prosciutto in half lengthwise.
- On a clean surface, place a prosciutto strip at a 45-degree angle and align one asparagus spear at the bottom.
- Wrap the prosciutto around the asparagus, ensuring it’s snug but not too tight.
- Heat the olive oil or ghee in a large frying pan over medium-high heat until hot.
- Carefully place the wrapped asparagus in the pan and sauté for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until the prosciutto is golden brown and crispy.
Notes
For lighter variations, substitute prosciutto with turkey bacon. Add spices for extra flavor.
