Delightful meatballs enveloped in a luscious sauce infused with Tuscan flavors, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese (or nutritional yeast for a vegan option)
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup heavy cream (or coconut cream for dairy-free)
- 1 cup spinach, roughly chopped
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, Parmesan, egg, garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
- Preheat your skillet over medium heat and add a splash of oil.
- Sear the meatballs on all sides until browned, about 8 minutes.
- Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream, stirring gently to combine.
- Add in the chopped spinach and let simmer for about 10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, consider incorporating herbs like thyme or rosemary. If you’re in a hurry, using store-bought marinara sauce can save time while still delivering great taste. Chilling the formed meatballs before cooking can also help them hold their shape.
