Description

A rich and indulgent cake that’s the perfect centerpiece for holiday celebrations, combining delightful textures and flavors that please everyone.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup toffee bits
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • Optional: nuts for topping or decorating

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with the buttermilk. Stir until just combined.
  6. Fold in the toffee bits and chocolate chips gently, ensuring even distribution.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and smooth the tops.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  10. Frost or garnish as desired, and serve.

Notes

For an extra moist cake, substitute some granulated sugar with brown sugar. Always allow butter to soften at room temperature for better creaming.
