Ingredients
- 4 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese (or a mix of your favorites)

- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)

- Repeat the layering process with the remaining potato slices, creamy mixture, and cheeses.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Allow it to cool for a few moments before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
For an upgraded flavor experience, consider incorporating different types of cheese or using a mandoline for even potato slices.
