Description

A tender and delicious chicken dish with a rich, sweet, and savory glaze, perfect for easy weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • ½ cup of soy sauce
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch (optional, for thickening later)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken thighs or breasts in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, ground ginger, salt, and pepper.
  3. Drizzle the sauce over the chicken in the slow cooker, ensuring it’s well-coated.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or until the chicken is tender and easily shredded.
  5. If desired, remove the chicken and stir in cornstarch mixed with a bit of water. Cook on high for an additional 15-30 minutes until thickened before serving.

Notes

Marinate the chicken overnight for deeper flavor. Consider adding red pepper flakes for heat or substituting honey for a different sweetness profile.
