Description

A comforting dish with rich flavors made effortlessly in a slow cooker, featuring tender flank steak combined with garlic and ginger.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds flank steak (thinly sliced against the grain)
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, toss the flank steak with cornstarch until every piece is evenly coated.
  2. Transfer the coated steak into the slow cooker.
  3. Add in toasted sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, brown sugar, and water. Stir gently to combine all the flavors.
  4. Cover and cook on HIGH for 2-3 hours or LOW for 4-5 hours, until the beef is incredibly tender.
  5. Just before serving, stir in freshly chopped green onions.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider searing the flank steak before adding it to the slow cooker. You can also customize with vegetables like bell peppers or a spicy kick with sriracha.
