Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 packet of onion soup mix
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Form the mixture into medium-sized meatballs, about the size of a golf ball.
- Optionally, quickly sear the meatballs in a skillet over medium heat until browned on all sides.
- In the slow cooker, whisk together the beef broth, onion soup mix, and sliced mushrooms.
- Gently place the meatballs into the gravy mix, ensuring they are mostly submerged.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or until the meatballs are cooked through and tender.
