Description

Juicy Salisbury steak meatballs smothered in savory gravy, perfect for cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 packet of onion soup mix
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  2. Form the mixture into medium-sized meatballs, about the size of a golf ball.
  3. Optionally, quickly sear the meatballs in a skillet over medium heat until browned on all sides.
  4. In the slow cooker, whisk together the beef broth, onion soup mix, and sliced mushrooms.
  5. Gently place the meatballs into the gravy mix, ensuring they are mostly submerged.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or until the meatballs are cooked through and tender.
  7. Give everything a gentle stir, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

Serve over creamy mashed potatoes, fluffy rice, or egg noodles for a complete meal. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container and are best enjoyed within 3 to 4 days.
