Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (or beef substitutes)
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or your preference)
- 4 flour tortillas (or corn for a gluten-free option)
- 1 onion, diced (optional)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- Fresh toppings: diced tomatoes, lettuce, avocado
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, seasoning with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Once cooked, remove the beef and sauté diced onions in the same skillet until softened.
- Place a tortilla on the skillet, layer with beef, cheese, and another tortilla on top.
- Cook until the bottom tortilla is golden, then flip and cook the other side until golden.
- Repeat for additional quesadillas and cut them into wedges before serving.
Notes
Best served hot with guacamole, fresh salsa, or a dollop of sour cream. For an extra kick, consider adding jalapeños or spicy sauce.
