Description
A delightful layered cake infused with the flavors of toasted marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers, resembling classic campfire s’mores.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot water
- 2 cups chocolate frosting (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your cake pans by greasing them.
- In a bowl, mix together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Incorporate the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla into the dry mix, then gradually add the hot water, stirring until smooth.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool completely before frosting.
- Spread a layer of frosting between the cake layers, sprinkling graham cracker crumbs and marshmallows in between.
- Frost the top and sides, then decorate with additional marshmallows and graham cracker crumbs.
Notes
To enhance the marshmallow flavor, consider toasting the marshmallows lightly before layering. For smoother frosting application, let cakes cool completely.
