A satisfying and customizable stir-fry featuring seasoned ground beef, vibrant vegetables, and fluffy rice, perfect for quick weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced into strips
- 1/2 zucchini, sliced
- 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce (for veggies)
- 1 cup steamed white rice
Instructions
- Wash and chop all the vegetables; mince the garlic.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, pour in the sesame oil and add the minced garlic, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef and sauté until browned, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks.
- Stir in the soy sauce, chili flakes, and brown sugar; allow to simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened, then remove from heat.
- In a separate pan, heat olive oil and sauté the remaining minced garlic for another 30 seconds.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the broccoli, zucchini, and red bell pepper; stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes until the veggies are tender-crisp. Drizzle with soy sauce and stir well.
- To serve, scoop hot steamed rice into bowls and arrange the beef and vegetables on top or side by side.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the beef in a mix of garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil for 30 minutes before cooking.
