Description

A satisfying and customizable stir-fry featuring seasoned ground beef, vibrant vegetables, and fluffy rice, perfect for quick weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced into strips
  • 1/2 zucchini, sliced
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce (for veggies)
  • 1 cup steamed white rice


Instructions

  1. Wash and chop all the vegetables; mince the garlic.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, pour in the sesame oil and add the minced garlic, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef and sauté until browned, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks.
  4. Stir in the soy sauce, chili flakes, and brown sugar; allow to simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened, then remove from heat.
  5. In a separate pan, heat olive oil and sauté the remaining minced garlic for another 30 seconds.
  6. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for 2 minutes.
  7. Add the broccoli, zucchini, and red bell pepper; stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes until the veggies are tender-crisp. Drizzle with soy sauce and stir well.
  8. To serve, scoop hot steamed rice into bowls and arrange the beef and vegetables on top or side by side.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the beef in a mix of garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil for 30 minutes before cooking.
