A delicious balance of sweet and spicy flavors, this Spicy Orange Chicken is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a family brunch.
Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breast, cubed
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp sriracha
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- Sesame seeds (for garnishing)
- Green onions, sliced (for garnishing)
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the cubed chicken breast. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 7-8 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together orange juice, soy sauce, honey, and sriracha.
- Pour the orange sauce mixture into the skillet and stir well to coat the chicken. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry and add to the skillet, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve hot over steamed rice.
Notes
For added flavor, marinate the chicken in soy sauce and orange juice for 30 minutes before cooking. Adjust the sriracha to suit your taste for spice.
