A hearty baked dish combining ground beef, pepperoni, and fresh vegetables, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground beef
- 1 cup Pepperoni slices
- 2 Bell peppers, chopped
- 1 Onion, chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 cup Tomato sauce
- 2 cups Shredded cheese, your choice
- 1 Pie crust, store-bought or homemade
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add garlic and onion to the beef, sauté until fragrant and onions are translucent.
- Stir in chopped bell peppers, followed by pepperoni, tomato sauce, and seasonings. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Transfer the meat mixture into the pie crust, spreading it evenly.
- Top with shredded cheese and cover with another layer of pie crust. Seal edges; cut slits in the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, substitute the beef with finely chopped mushrooms and textured vegetable protein.
