Description

A comforting classic featuring juicy beef patties smothered in rich mushroom gravy, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, onion, salt, and pepper. Shape into 4 equal patties.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for about 4–5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the mushrooms and cook for about 3 minutes until they’re soft.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir. Gradually add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until the mixture thickens.
  5. Return the patties to the gravy, cover, and simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve.

Notes

Serves well with mashed potatoes or rice. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
