Description
A comforting classic featuring juicy beef patties smothered in rich mushroom gravy, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon flour
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, onion, salt, and pepper. Shape into 4 equal patties.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for about 4–5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the mushrooms and cook for about 3 minutes until they’re soft.
- Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir. Gradually add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until the mixture thickens.
- Return the patties to the gravy, cover, and simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve.
Notes
Serves well with mashed potatoes or rice. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
